1. How to Use Shadowsocks on Android

To apply this tutorial the first thing you have to do is create a Shadowsoks account first.

Create a Free Shadowsocks Account

Visit www.tcpvpn.com to create a free Shadowsocks account.

You can choose the country from the Shadowsocks server according to your needs. There are many Shadowsocks server choices there, you can choose one of the servers.

After you determine which server you will use you click “Generate Password“. Our example will be to create a Singapore server Shadowsoks.

Please pay attention to Port Shadowsocks, OBFS HTTP Port, OBFS TLS port, Method and Local Port. Because later we will apply it to the Shadowsoks application.

Your Shadowsocks account has been successfully created.

Download Simple Obfuscation

Download the Simple Obfuscation Plugin on the Play Store and Install it until it’s finished.

Download the Shadowsocks application and install it until it’s finished.

Setting Shadowsocks on Android

Open the Shadowsocks application that you downloaded above then click the + sign in the upper right corner, and then you follow the steps by following the arrows in the image.

Click the sign (+) at the top of the application.

Tap “Manual Settings“.

Enter the Shadowsocks Host, Port, and Password that you created on the www.tcpvpn.com site earlier.

  1. Profile Name You can fill in anything
  2. Host Shadowsoks
  3. Port Shadowsoks
  4. Password Shadowsoks
  5. Encrypt Method
  6. Save.

Scroll down a little and then click the Plugin menu:

Tap Simple Obfuscation Plugin.

In Server Settings, select tls and Obfuscation hostname, fill in the active Bug Host / SNI.

In Obfuscation hostname enter the Bug HOST / SNI Bug is active according to the internet trick you want to use. For example, we use the m.instagram.com Host / SNI Bug.

After finishing the settings, don’t forget to click save.

Connect Shadowsocks on Android

Tap once on the Shadowsocks server profile section then connect.

Tap on the part like the image below to see if your shadowsocks are connected properly. And Shadowsocks is connected properly as shown below:

How to Use Shadowsocks on PC / Windows

To use Shadowsocks on PC / Windows, the method is almost the same as using it on Android, especially for creating the Shadowsocks account used.

After you have successfully created a Shadowsocks account on the www.tcpvpn.com site, now we apply it to PC / Windows.

Settings Shadowsocks on PC / Windows

After you have successfully created the Shadowsocks account above, now you enter the account into the Shadowsocks PC application and settings.

Open the Shadowsocks application from the OBFS Shadowsocks folder then enter the Shadowsocks Account, Port Shadowsocks, TLS OBFS Port, Method, Local Port and the Password from the Shadowsocks server that you created at www.tcpvpn.com above. Like the picture below.

Open the Shadowsocks application by right clicking “run as admin“.

The ShadowSock application will appear near your PC’s battery icon, then just click once.

Enter the Shadowsocks account that you created from the tcpvpn.com site. Enter Server Addr, Server port, Password Shadowsocks, Encryption, Plugin Program and Plugin Option.

Finally click apply and ok.

For Plugin Option, fill in the format like this:

  • obfs=tls;obfs-host=m.instagram.com;obfs-uri=/

m.instagram.com is a Bug Host / SNI, you can change it according to your needs.

Connect Shadowsocks on PC / Windows

The way to connect is you simply right-click on the ShadowSocks application icon near your computer’s battery icon, then point the cursor on the ShadowSocks server and select click “Global“.

The Shadowsocks sign has successfully connected the icon will turn blue.

To confirm again whether Shadowsocks is connected to the internet, you can open the myip.id site to see if your IP address has changed according to the country of the Shadowsocks server you are using.

shadowsocks has successfully connected properly.
